More judgeships available?

Since I look at everything from a lawyer career development perspective, the first thing I thought was, "This will give more attorneys a shot at a judgeship!" when I saw "Mandatory Retirement Ages for Judges: How Old Is Too Old to Judge?" by Malia Reddick, the manager of the Institute for the Advancement of the American Legal System’s (IAALS) Quality Judges Initiative.

Reddick reports on the growing interest in creating maximum age limits for judges, which would allow more qualified lawyers to serve as judges -- assuming judicial vacancies are promptly filled. Otherwise, the efforts to revitalize the bench won't mean much in a practical sense.
