Can colleagues, potential clients, legal recruiters, and prospective employers find you? What will they see if they do?

Love it or hate it, we recommend every attorney have a strong presence on LinkedIn.

I need to thank you. I would not in a million years think this strategically about my LinkedIn profile. I was just going through the motions. I didn’t understand it as real tool to market my brand. Now I can wield LinkedIn like a lethal weapon.
— Board adviser and senior corporate generalist returning to Fortune 100 roles
My LinkedIn hits went from 25 to 100+ in just one week — and I haven’t even made the major changes you suggested yet. Even just the small changes had a massive impact on my trajectory.
— Senior patent attorney

LinkedIn allows attorneys to build professional networks, re-establish ties with old colleagues and classmates, establish themselves as subject matter experts and thought-leaders, interact with lawyers around the world in similar or related practice areas, meet potential clients, and research employers and job opportunities. All these activities can lead to career opportunities.

Take Control of Your Professional Brand

I put my LinkedIn profile up the day you sent the optimization to me. A recruiter contacted me right away, and two more have reached out, so it’s already making a difference. I like the profile a lot and I’m very excited!
— Chief regional counsel for Fortune 100

Some attorneys have online profiles through their law firms. But those profiles are designed to advance their employers’ interests, not their own career goals. LinkedIn provides a platform for lawyers wanting to establish a free, professional online identity that they—rather than their employers—control.

For lawyers in corporations, government, nonprofits, and other employers that do not have online profiles of their attorneys, a LinkedIn profile may be one of the few ways to have any professional online presence at all.

LinkedIn for LawyersLinkedIn is also a top tool for hiring personnel. Some recruiters report spending 4 to 5 hours each day on LinkedIn scouting top candidates. Likewise, employers use LinkedIn to vet job applicants—even before initial interviews.

We offer three LinkedIn for Lawyers options:

  1. LinkedIn Profile Writing by Screen Share (Hourly)

  2. LinkedIn Profile Optimizations (Programmatic)

  3. LinkedIn Coaching (Hourly)

LinkedIn for Lawyers: Profile Writing by Screen Share (Hourly)

Like our résumé writing by screen share, our LinkedIn writing by screen share is more than a critique. We don’t just strategize with you, we actually use screen sharing to interview you and revise your profile with you, right there and then. We get as much done as we can during our time together. After your work session, we email you the edited document so you continue work, if needed, on your own.

Want more time with your expert? Sign up for additional work sessions as you’d like.

Just Want the LinkedIn Profile Critique?

No problem. We have an option for that too.

How LinkedIn Writing by Screen Share Works

I never saw a job posting for this role [at Fortune 100], but they’ve been looking since November. Their in-house recruiter found me on LinkedIn and was attracted to my e-commerce experience. So LinkedIn works!
— Retail GC

The process is simple:

  1. Send us your current résumé. For screen share appointments, we’ll need a Word .doc or .docx version of your. We'll also ask you for your target industry, employers, and roles, as well as your LinkedIn profile URL.
  2. Have an interactive work session with a true expert. Talk through your LinkedIn profile critique, strategies, and questions. We’ll get done as much as we can in the time we have together to give you a more effective tool to help you reach your goals. In writing sessions, your expert will be re-writing and editing sections of your LinkedIn profile to help bring into out your strengths and career narrative. Your expert will not log into your profile to make the changes. Instead, your expert will write in a Microsoft Word doc so that you can cut and paste new content into your profile.
  3. At the end of your session, your expert will email any updated text so that you can continue work on your own. Or sign up for additional sessions to continue working together.
I read the LinkedIn book—which was very good—cover-to-cover yesterday. I don’t do much social media, so reading the book before the profile optimization was really helpful to understand the thought process behind the recommendations.

LinkedIn for Lawyers: Profile Optimization (Programmatic)

For those who have worked with us to complete their résumés, we have additional LinkedIn options that combine work by screen share with your expert and your expert working on their own. In these LinkedIn Profile Optimization (LPO) options, you’ll receive a profile audit, suggestions, and “cut and paste” Word doc copy as part of a customized tutorial.

As a bonus, you’ll also receive the latest edition of Shauna’s “LinkedIn for Lawyers” book. Both the tutorial and the book are intended to serve as lasting reference material, to help you make decisions regarding your branding and presence on LinkedIn.

Program pricing generally ranges from $625 to $1200. Contact us after your Bryce Legal résumé is complete to see if our LinkedIn Profile Optimization is a good fit for you.

How LinkedIn Profile Optimization Works

The LinkedIn profile optimization looks great! It was very easy to follow along with your instructions. Everything looks really good. I made all your recommended changes. I really like the summary. The skills you suggested made a lot of sense. And the LinkedIn for Lawyers book was very helpful. It’s a really nice book.
— Lead compliance attorney

The process is a little different from the writing by screen share process, but still simple:

  1. We’ll have an initial strategy and planning session to discuss LinkedIn goals, as well as any particular concerns you may have about LinkedIn.
  2. Then, over the next few days, your expert will adapt existing content of your résumé, cover letter, and other career portfolio documents to the LinkedIn platform. Using our Bryce Legal tutorial as a guide, we also audit and make suggestions for major components of your current LinkedIn profile, including headline, headshots, custom URLs, and skills and expertise. It's an offline process that generally takes 90-minutes to 2.5 hours, depending upon complexity. In some cases, the process will yield dramamtically different text from your resume; in other cases, the resume and LinkedIn text will be more one-to-one. Your expert will not log into your profile to make the changes. Instead, your expert will write in a Microsoft Word doc so that you can cut and paste new content into your profile.
  3. Your expert will email your customized tutorial and optimization, along with a copy of Shauna's LinkedIn for Lawyers book.
  4. You'll have a follow up call to discuss the suggestions, edits, implementation, and coaching.
