The Multi-Screen Job Search
I found nexxt's infographic on the history of the online job search, including job seekers' preferred devices, fascinating -- but perhaps not in the way you'd think. For me, the key finding was that 83% of job seekers search for jobs while watching TV. Folks, that's not a job search. My suggestion? Shut off the TV and get away from the job boards. Instead -- no matter what device you prefer -- spend that precious time more effectively by using it to research employers and individuals so that you can make meaningful professional connections. Networking is still the number one way to find new opportunities.
