Niteesha Gupte is a director in Major Lindsay & Africa’s Partner Practice Group. As a former practicing attorney with experience in the federal government, an AmLaw 100 law firm, and Fortune 500 / global public company environments, Niteesha has also served as the Director of Attorney Careers and Executive Coach for AmLaw 50 global law firm Paul Hastings and as a coaching consultant for University of Pennsylvania Law School. Niteesha has worked with lawyers at different stages in their careers to level up in their current roles or make transitions, whether in law or out of the profession.
Niteesha graduated with a JD from Saint Louis University School of Law with a certificate in Health Law. She also holds an MPH with a concentration in Behavioral Science and Health Education from Saint Louis University School of Public Health and earned her BA from Washington University in St. Louis. In addition to her degrees, Niteesha has a certification in Professional Coaching from iPEC, is accredited by the International Coaching Federation as an Associate Certified Coach, and is soon to be certified as a Mindfulness and Meditation teacher.
Niteesha began her legal career in the federal government at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services where she worked on civil False Claims Act matters then transitioned to the law firm Epstein Becker & Green where she advised clients in the health care and life sciences industries on regulatory and compliance issues. Niteesha spent the bulk of her legal career as an in-house attorney in the life sciences industry, ranging from mid-size to large global companies like Pfizer and Hill-Rom Holdings, focusing on anticorruption and corporate compliance. She navigated between the legal and compliance departments and had stints working overseas in Europe and Asia. As an assistant professor for Seton Hall Law School, she also created the curriculum for and taught a law school class on corporate compliance.
After practicing law, Niteesha has served as an internal coach at Paul Hastings, a coaching consultant for PennLaw, as well as a career and leadership coach for executives and professionals. Niteesha works with clients on the exploratory parts of coaching and counseling, such as gaining career clarity, as well as the tactical parts, such as job search techniques and interview prep. She has deep expertise in helping lawyers make a transition from law firm to in-house and has worked with lawyers who were considering transitioning into legal adjacent roles or into new professions altogether.
